On the move...

Hi! Nice to see you! So much has happened since I posted last week. I guess that's how it goes when you are learning and changing everyday! I am on the move. That's right...I'm scooting around on the floor like an inch worm, showing off my amazing upper body strength and days away from crawling all over the house.

I am starting to throw a ball now, too. Ryker is really excited about that new development.
Thinking about crawling over to pick that ball up and throw it again...

My new teeth are really noticeable now, so Mom took a picture of my (no longer gummy) smile for you.

This weekend I visited my Aunt Teresa and Brandon. We had so much fun reading together!

My brother and I had some more pictures taken (crazy Mommy can't get enough photos). It was Ryker's photo shoot this time, but he was happy to let me hop in on a couple of them. The second is Mom's favorite...soon after it was taken, Ryker decided he didn't want to hold my hands anymore and let go of me. I did a belly flop on the floor. I look so unsuspecting in the shot though. (Not to worry, no Deklans were harmed in the making of the picture!)

As evidenced by this week's pictures we spent a lot of time indoors. It seems that Spring was merely teasing us, as the cold weather has returned--it snowed today! When I see you next week I hope to have some news of warmer temps and fun times outside again. See you soon!

Finally feeling better!

17 days. After nearly a tube of desitin, countless diapers, and three trips to the doctor, I am feeling back to normal. I lost a bit of weight...down half a pound from where I was a month ago...so all in all I am probably a couple of pounds lighter. Thankfully, I didn't have some horrible infection or virus. In fact, there wasn't much of anything wrong with me. We discovered that I have a milk allergy, so as long as Mommy doesn't have any dairy I am as happy as can be. Mom and Dad are amazed at how different I am acting now. I guess I was kind of cranky for the last two and a half weeks...but you would be, too, if you were dealing with that!

To celebrate my return to normalcy and improved demeanor, we went to the park. I love being outside! (This warmer weather is a welcome change. I think I could take jogs in the stroller with Mommy everyday!) Even better than a relaxing stroll, I got to hang out with my buddy Sullivan. His Mommy took some great pictures while we were there.

I also wanted to post a couple of pictures from my visit with Grapes Grandma. I had such a great time visiting with her. She can't believe how fast I am growing!

Ryker and I got to spend some time with Austin and Morgan (and their parents Jeff and Annette) a couple of weeks ago.  I loved snuggling with Annette and Morgan. I can't wait to see them all again!

Our friend Cadence turned the big ONE this weekend. I keep hoping that one of these days when we go to a party I will actually get some of the cake. At least I got to play with one of the favors.

I got two more teeth since I last blogged. They are my two front teeth on top. I bet those will come in really handy for new foods in the future. I am starting to eat better, now that my belly feels good again. I'm still a huge fan of sweet potatoes, but I am digging apples now, too. I will tolerate peas, but they certainly aren't anything I would choose if Mom ever gave me an option. Speaking of milestones, I turned 7  months old a few days ago. I am starting to act like an inch worm when I am having tummy time. Mommy and Daddy think I am days away from crawling. I like to inch over to grab balls, Ryker's golf clubs, puzzle pieces, and the remote to name a few things. Once I figure out how to get some push from these legs, I am going to be cruising around the living room!
That's what's new in my neck of the woods...hope that you are enjoying these first days of Spring!

Rough week...

Ol' blue eyes
As I type this, we're going on 13 days of me feeling crummy. I'll spare you the details and just tell you that my belly hurts. I've been to the doctor twice and they aren't sure what is going on. I am waiting for lab results to see if I have an infection. Despite the crummy health the last couple of weeks, I am still in good spirits usually (except when I am waking up three times a night). I am hanging in there though and hope to be feeling better soon!
Mom decided one day that she would take a picture of me napping, by my aquarium light. Didn't turn out very well, but at least there is physical evidence that despite what she may say, I do actually sleep from time to time.
Mom has been lacking sleep with my frequent waking, so I thought I'd cheer her up a bit and say Mama last Monday. Granted, it was in the middle of a crying fit, but she'll take what she can get. I also said "Ra Ra" this week a few times. That's my way of saying Ryker. Not too bad for a guy that's six and a half months old!
It was a rough week for our plumbing at the house, too. Sometime last weekend we sprung a leak under the floor. Uncle Tim and Auntie Mimi came to see us and try to help us fix it. I love spending time with them. Auntie Mimi is such a good snuggler!

Due to the illness we stayed at home a lot this week. I spent time in the bouncer. I am getting so good at bouncing and playing with my toys.
Big smiles from a big boy!

I can only be cooped up for so long, though, so we went to visit Grammy and Papaw this weekend and stop by to see Rilei at her birthday party. I missed out on pizza (though I am eating yogurt and sweet potatoes really well) but I got to have a great time with my family.

I also got to visit my Grapes Grandma and made some new friends that I'll tell you about next time. Hopefully I will be feeling better, too! See you soon!

Da, da, da, darling!

Yep, I started talking this past Saturday. Da, da,da,da,da... I am not sure what I'm saying yet, but I do know that sounds are starting to come out of this mouth! Daddy takes great pride in knowing that both of us boys said his name first. I think he knows, deep down, that we're both Momma's boys though.

I spent some quality time with my Mimi this past week. She and Connor and Chandler and I hung out, played, ate, and relaxed a bit while Mommy and Ryker saw Elmo. I had a fun time with them and was really glad that they didn't have school! I also got to see my Auntie Mimi recently. She took us out for lunch. I am still trying to figure out why I get the same thing to eat no matter where we go. I shouldn't complain though, I have started getting some new foods, in addition to my cereal and milk. I have tried a variety of fruits including bananas, pears, and apples. I must not be too exotic of a guy because bananas did not strike my fancy. I refuse to eat them time after time. I am hoping Mom will get the hint and stop offering them, but who knows? Speaking of eating, I got to join my Aunt Genessa, Uncle Tyler, Cadence, Kyrie, Brayson, and Brannen for lunch this weekend. What a nice surprise to see them!

Dinner time giggles

Sullivan and I hung out last week, too. His Mommy had a birthday and all she wanted to do to celebrate was take pictures of us. I can't say I blame her...we're pretty cute!

Hey, man, I am not sure why we're in this basket, but I have a plan to get out...

Tummy time!

Well that's a wrap for this week. I am fighting my very first virus right now. So far, I have been blessed to make it over 6 months without anything to worry about health-wise. The last three days, however, I have been battling a fever and food is not staying in my belly very well. So, I am requiring a little more rest than normal. Hopefully I will be back next week feeling 100% again and ready to share more pictures and stories with you. See you soon!
