The Featherweight

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great week. Mine has been great, despite a less than stellar start. On Monday, I went to the doctor for my 9 month check up. Here were the numbers: 28.75" tall, weighing in at 17lb 15oz, and head circumference of 44.5cm. Now none of that is too shabby, but the troublesome part for everyone was that I actually lost half an ounce over the past three months. A growing baby boy should be gaining weight...not losing from where he was at age 6 months. Maybe it is my new milk-free diet (and/or its effect on Mommy), or maybe it's the fact that I've been a pretty picky eater. Either way, I've got to put some meat on these bones. So, how did this end up being such a good week? Mom and Dad went on a mission to find table food that suited my palate. I've been eating like a champ and I think we've officially waved so long to that pureed baby food garbage. So far I've chowed down on pasta, turkey hotdogs (don't worry-Mommy cuts them into super teeny tiny pieces), chicken, cereal of all sorts, green beans, bread, peas, carrots, and my new favorite: mini Teddy Grahams! Yummy! If I keep this up, my parents expect to see some much bigger numbers at my weigh in next month.
I've been having a great time playing with Ryker. We've been splishing and splashing during our daily bath, rolling around and wrestling with Daddy, and playing peek-a-boo together. I am waving and clapping now and have even signed "more" a few times for Mom. She has tried numerous times to get this stuff on video, but I will have none of it. Maybe she'll find a stealthy way to catch me in the act? I have also gotten a couple more teeth over the last few days, which has disrupted my sleep but really helped with the chomping of my new tasty foods. I am pulling up to a stand on everything now. It's so much fun to be upright!

Do you see that, Mama? That looks like so much fun!

Well, that's all the news I have for you this week. Hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend! I think I'm going to get to try my first watermelon over the holiday, so I will tell you about that next time. See you then...

For Mom

Ryker told me that Mom gets her very own day every year, to relax and enjoy time with us. This sounded like a lot of days around our house...well, maybe not the relax part. Anyway, we gave Mom a whole weekend of fun, complete with our other favorite moms: Grammy and Grandma!
I've been getting around pretty well...still doing my legless crawl, but getting speedier with each day. I am also pulling up to a stand on the couch. Watch out now! I'll be cruising any day!
This week I have a doctor's appointment and a 9 month birthday. Time is flying! I'll update next week with how big I am getting. Have a great week...

Fun outside with Grandma

Ball

Grammy time!

Mom's day

Had blueberries for the first time...so very, very messy but TASTY!

Ryker has no idea that I am going to whip him someday. Enjoy it while you can, Rykerman!

My first Easter

Mommy took so many pictures of me at Easter and over the last couple of weeks that I'll just share those with you instead of writing a bunch. Hope you enjoy!

Ready to color my first Easter eggs

This kind of looks like a ball...

...a ball that I would like to chew on.

Throw the "ball" into the blue stuff?

That was fun!

I think Ryker colored 11 eggs for every one that I completed. I am still smiling though!

Papaw's surprise 60th birthday party...I was more into the idea of grabbing some cake than I was smiling for a picture.

Despite the look on my face, I loved hanging out with my Uncle Tim!

Aunt Owi was giving me drinks of water...and snuck in a bite of frosting, too.

Fun with Aunt Teresie!

Tickle time with Uncle Tom

My first Easter...we went to church and then spent the day with Vance and Mimi. I'm their Easter basket.

These eggs are so neat. Part of me wants to throw them, the other eat them. Maybe I'll just look at them in wonder.

Maybe Mimi will know what to do with this egg?

Happy Easter!

Look what I found!

I'll take that...

Ryker makes me laugh

My Easter basket had some Elmo and Cookie Monster socks and my first Bible! Mom and Dad and I read it a few times that day.

I like this basket--ball

Easter fun at Kernodle's house. Mr. Robert and I cuddled up while Ryker played with his new pop up books.

This past weekend, Lainie came to visit us. We ran on the Monon and had a picnic, we met the Veggie Tales crew, and we went to the park. It was so much fun...even though I was just hanging out on Daddy's chest. I liked seeing Lainie and Ryker having a blast, and I know I'll be in on the action all too soon.

Look at them go! Weeeee! I can't wait to slide!

3 Musketeers

I got to slide with Daddy! Yea!!!

Cheerio time! That always makes me smile!
Thanks for checking in on me. Hope you had a great Easter, too! See you soon!
