15 Months

32 inches long; 22 lbs...getting bigger by the second! My fifteen month check up went really well! Mom and Dad are starting to see my personality emerge, too. I love saying new words. Most recently I have added cookie, shoe, sock, spoon (for spank you spoon...I'm pretty ornery), and hat to my repertoire. I love climbing and running and dancing. If there's a good tune on I just can't sit still, especially if my brother is giving a concert. I can't get enough of lights, in particular turning them on and off, on and off, and on and off again. What fun!
Speaking of fun, we had a great visit to Grammy & Papaw's for Thanksgiving. Our holiday weekend officially started on Wednesday night when Sully came over to visit. We slept really well that night. The next morning we watched the parade and then headed up to Peru for Grapes Grandma's house. We got to see lots of family and eat lots and lots of delicious food! We were on our best behavior, which made our parents so happy! I didn't even touch the ornaments on the Christmas tree. Yea me!

At Grammy & Papaw's we had Thanksgiving on Friday. We saw lots more family and even put up their giant Christmas tree. Ryker and I watched movies with Grammy and loved cuddling up with her for a few days. They put up some lights on the outside of their house, as did their neighbors. One of our favorite things to do was to walk next door and across the street (holding hands with Grammy, of course) and visit the inflatable Frosty and Santa and the Nativity. I am so excited for Christmas already!

When we got home, we put up our Christmas tree. It was kind of yucky outside, so we hustled through Home Depot and found one that suited us. Mom made cookies and hot cocoa and Dad strung up lights. Then we decorated. I wasn't much for the decorating process, as it took me away from my cookie eating. I love cookies. I love saying "cookie" and it seems stopping either activity would cause me to cry. Unfortunately, that isn't the healthiest for a growing boy, so then I started saying "night night" and asked to go to bed, shortly after the decorating was complete. The Christmas season is here and I am ready!

Stay warm and I will see you soon!

Hit the road!

The last couple of weeks have been full of smiles for me. Grandma came down to visit me the first week of November and we had a great time together. We played outside and inside. I read lots of books. I am starting to like books a little more than before. I like the pictures and I make up my own stories (though I'm the only one that knows how they go). I am talking a lot more these days. I say some of my colors (yellow is my favorite to say, but I can say purple, blue, green, and orange), I use please and thank you fairly often, and I love to make animal sounds (especially doggy noises).

It's almost Thanksgiving, so that got Mommy headed for the attic to get our Christmas decorations out. She hung up our stockings by the chimney with care and then put a few other little things out. My favorite was the little people nativity. I like to carry the figures around. To celebrate the Christmas season we watched a movie about Christmas and why we celebrate the way that we do and how they all have to do with Jesus' birthday. It was a good movie, especially since I got to enjoy it with my first hot chocolate and some popcorn (hulls removed of course).

I played with a lot of friends the last couple of weeks. Brayden and Jacey and Lainie have all been over for play time. Lainie got into a game of baseball with us. We love to run!

Last week was a lot of fun. We took a road trip to visit Sully and his family in Illinois. I slept most of the four hour drive. I woke up just in time to tell Mommy that I needed lunch. She treated us to McD's (french fries are so tasty) and then we drove the last 45 min to our destination. It was fun to see them. Sully is running all over with me now. I think one of the highlights, for me, was getting to be around Brutus (their doggy). He was a little grumpy, but that didn't stop me from chasing him around the house constantly and woofing at him. His tail is so pretty I just wanted to grab it! Sully and I went to an orchard. I loved the cider donuts. They had a giant playground there. It took me less than five minutes to find the biggest puddle on the premises and dive right in. My camera happy Mom couldn't stop me in time so I was filthy the rest of the morning. I love to be messy! It makes Mommy marvel at how different Ryker and I are. He likes to be clean and can't stand anything on his hands. I, on the other hand, love dirt and sink my hands into anything and everything. They had a sand silo at the park and I was loving it! They also had a petting zoo so I fed the goats and pet the llama. That endeavor took two hands so their are no photos of that. I love animals!

That wraps up the fun of the last couple of weeks. Thanks for checking in on me. I am so thankful for all of the people in my life! I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving  and take time to thank God for all the people in yours, too!

Boo!

We had a fun filled weekend. It started with a birthday bash for my big brother. He turned three. We threw him a big party with lots of balloons (which I can say now) and cake and cookies and lots and lots of family and friends. He didn't really need any help opening up his presents even though it seemed like there was a mountain of them. I like birthday parties...even if it isn't mine...because I get to play with the toys. The best part is getting to see all of my family and friends!

The next day was Grammy & Papaw day. Mom and Dad went to a football game with my friend Brayden's parents. That meant we got to have a great day with my grandparents. Grammy ran all around the house with us. Papaw played cars with us. We got to go to church that night with them and enjoy the Harvest Party. There was lots of food and candy. I was dressed up as Thing 2 and my brother was Thing 1. I liked dressing up in my red outfit and getting my hair all bright blue. My day with Grammy & Papaw was so much fun!

Sunday I got to spend some time with Sully. He is walking now, so the two of us toddled around at church. I wish we weren't saying "goodbye" to the Spillmans, but I do look forward to visiting them soon!

Monday was Halloween, but before we could go trick-or-treating we had to go on a mini-road trip to visit Grammy. My brother had his first dentist appointment (fitting on Halloween, don't you think?) and Grammy went with us so that I didn't have to fend for myself in the waiting room. I went back and checked out what the dentist was doing to Ryker's mouth because I'll probably have to start going soon. My molars are just about in! Dr. Melody took a look at my teeth and said they looked great. We met Great Aunt Owi for lunch afterwards. I even got an ice cream cone for being such a good boy waiting on Ryker at the dentist's office. Then we went back to Grammy's. Owi got me a monster truck to play with and then I explored the spiral staircase. Grammy's house is sooooo fun!

After we got back home, it was time to eat dinner and head out to the street for some candy! Mommy made us some hotdog mummies and cheesy brains (aka mac n cheese) for dinner. I chomped mine down in no time! Then I got my hair sprayed blue once again. I went over to show off my costume to the Kernodles. They thought we were the cutest Things they had ever seen. I loved walking from house to house, and it seemed most of the people we passed on the sidewalk thought we were adorable Things, too. After quite a haul (even though I ate tootsie rolls throughout the walk) we headed up to Mindy & Vance's house to say hello. We had a great time visiting with them (and I had a good time climbing up the stairs there, too...my new favorite hobby at houses without baby gates, it seems).

I hope you had a happy Halloween! See you soon...
