My First Relief Sale

This past weekend I attended my very first Michiana Mennonite Relief Sale in Daddy's hometown of Goshen. This is a pretty big event for my family each year with most of the Brenneman side attending annually, but this time around it was even more special (well, yeah, because I was there, but also) because my Grandma's side of the family was in attendance. Normally, Mommy and Daddy only get to see the Schroeder clan at Christmas every other year. However, they traveled from Kansas, Nebraska, and Colorado to attend the Relief Sale and get together as a family. We had so much fun talking, eating, and playing with all of them that Mom didn't snag many pictures. She has resolved to take more next time we are around them. We did get pictures of me with my cousins, though. Grandma never imagined that she'd get so many grandkids out of just two kids, but she did. And soon there will be another one as the Hartfords become a family of seven.

Back at home, Ryker is still teaching me all about life. This week's lesson was the art of the "bump". The bump is kind of Ryker's thing. So, he raced around the kitchen on his car and gave me bumps each time he passed by. I'll get the hang of it soon enough.

See you all next week! My new best bud arrives tomorrow (the newest Spillman will be here)!

Third Wheel?

My parents recently went on a marriage retreat with their friends from Covenant (their Sunday school class). It was a weekend thing with some great speakers named Jill & Mark Savage. I know because I got to go with them! It was my first time in a hotel, and I had a great time. I slept like a champ, giving Mom and Dad the ability to listen to the speakers, enjoy a delicious dinner, and even have some conversation that didn't revolve around dirty diapers and other baby stuff. I know, I know, I'm such a good boy. I did make it back just in time Sunday to see Grandma for a little bit. All that retreat stuff tuckered me out.

This past week I hit the one month mark! I had a doctor's appointment, where I got a great report. I've grown half an inch in length and gained almost 3 lbs...putting me at 11 # 4.5 oz. Before you know it I will be big like Ryker! Mom took me to have my first photo shoot done to celebrate the milestone. My big brother even took a few shots with me.

Hanging with the guys...

Football, pulled pork, and a big comfy couch...does it get any better than this? Daddy, Ryker, and I spent most of the weekend enjoying the games. It's a good thing Mom likes football, too, because the 3 boys are all about it!
We got a visit from my new buddy Brayden recently. Our Dads showed us how to play foosball. Ryker and our Mommies watched with us. It was quite the showdown. In the end, my Daddy pulled off the victory! Yea Daddy!
It wasn't all guy time this week. I got to see my Great Grandma and my Grammy and Papaw. I love to see them! They gave Mom a break from us for a little bit. She worked in a quick run (thus the wet hair in the picture) without a stroller for the first time in who knows how long!
All this fun makes a boy tuckered!

Next week I'll be one month old. Can you believe how fast time flies? Check back then for more pictures...

So that's where Daddy goes...

The past week has been much more of the same: meeting lots of new people and doing lots of new things. I am still sleeping really well at night, but I've developed a bit of high maintenance tendencies during the day. Hey, can you blame a guy for wanting to be held and moved constantly? I got my first real bath this week. Ryker helped Mommy with that. I quite like the nice warm water. Ryker told me I was pretty tough because I didn't even cry.

This past week saw the start of football season. Here's my best attempt at "touchdown"!
We took a long car trip (yep, I was a loud passenger) to see Daddy play softball on Sunday. I really liked the sling that Mom carried me around in all day and night. I think I'll appreciate this softball stuff next summer. Most recently, I got to see where Daddy goes each day. He calls it work, but I barely made it past the front desk where Annette greeted me with open arms. I like visiting Daddy!
